Inclusive Practices

Definition:

Intentional instructional design that supports each student with research-based instruction and practices which focuses on individual learning needs.

Best Practice

  • Instruction and resources are tailored to meet the learning needs, preferences, and goals of individual students, offering access to grade-level materials
  • Co-teaching models are strategically planned for and varied throughout the instructional delivery
  • Each student has equitable access to grade-level learning materials and diverse resources
  • Each student has equitable opportunities to share their voice and participate
  • Access to a wide range of activities and environments is provided for each child by removing barriers and offering multiple ways to promote learning
  • Teachers utilize differentiated instructional strategies to ensure that each student’s needs are met
