Evidence of Learning
Definition:
Daily tasks or activities that require students to demonstrate their understanding of a skill or concept that are aligned to ASD curriculum’s lesson objectives and assessments. Evidence of learning is used to differentiate future lessons and provide appropriate supports to students.
Best Practice
- Checks for understanding by regularly assessing student understanding through formative assessments like exit tickets or quick checks during lessons
- Engage students in small group discussions to deepen their understanding of concepts and encourage peer collaboration
- Provide targeted support and interventions based on students’ individual learning needs and levels of understanding

Think Pair Share, collaborative discussion structures, Close Reading Strategies, exit tickets, text based written responses, formative and summative assessments
