Evidence of Learning
Definition:
Tasks or activities done throughout the lesson that ask the student to demonstrate understanding of a skill or concept; helps teachers and students know whether the learning target was achieved.
Best Practice
- Aligned strategically to cognitive growth targets to ensure challenge and support throughout lesson
- Aligns to the learning goal(s)
- Distributive summarizing that requires students explain learning in their own words
- Involves feedback that allows for cognitive development
- Individual and group data is collected and analyzed to inform instructional decisions.
